The world is rapidly approaching billions of Internet-connected users, tens of billions of connected consumer electronic devices and hundreds of billions of commercial or industrial connected devices.New devices, whether smart phone or tablet, consumer device or industrial equipment are placing new demands on enterprises and consumers around the globeĀ - and they have to address those demands to be high performers.

Organizations need solutions that prepare them and their customers to meet the demands and seize the opportunities that mobility presents. The rapidly changing mobile ecosystem is a challenge to achieve breakthrough growth and requires a solid yet flexible approach.

Mobile strategy: organizations need to define their mobile strategy, mobility business and technology plans to drive additional enterprise and customer value. These may include: Scope of service may include market assessment and sizing, competitive assessments, enterprise mobility planning and design, vertical mobility offering evaluation and design, network infrastructure design, mobility channel design, employee needs assessment, mobility application architectures/blueprints, mobility technology and device planning, etc.

Software Development for Mobile: Software development services for mobile applications including custom, packaged, and hosted client, client/server and cloud-based solutions with support for all leading high-level operating systems (HLOS) and cloud platforms.

Mobile devices and platforms: organizations may need software services for clients to best enable a product or device containing embedded software, such as mobile phones, vehicles, industrial solutions, household appliances or consumer electronics. This may include advanced embedded software engineering, device tuning, testing, certification, diagnosis and resolution of errors. Typically these are offered cross-platform, with support for the leading HLOSs and cloud platforms.

Mobility managed services: organizations can highly benefit from a managed-service platform to launch and scale vertical mobile offerings quickly on a variable cost, transaction model basis. This platform offers dramatic reduction in complexity through pre-integration with leading network operators, device manufacturers, business partners and developers. Capabilities typically offered are:

  • SOA service catalog composed of a large pool of virtualized mobility primitives.
  • Enterprise application storefront, development tools and device management services.
  • Device connectivity services to provision, manage and control connected devices.
  • mCommerce applications including mobile banking, payments and ticketing.
  • Connected car services including diagnostics (telematics), IVI framework and platforms, stolen vehicle recovery and mobile insurance.
  • Mobile virtual network enablement including integrated BSS and SDP.

In many cases, managed service offerings are available inside the firewall on a licensed or hosted basis.

Business Integration: Integrated business and technology mobility services through a vertical or functional domain. These services provide large scale, integrated solutions utilizing the full complement to service the organizations enterprise mobility needs (e.g., business to employee, business to business and business to business to consumer solutions).
