Jan Aertsen has worked in IT and decision support for fifteen years, specializing in data warehouse design and business intelligence projects. Over the years, he has mastered the entire BI lifecycle including KPI and strategy definition, budgeting, tool selection, project management, implementation and maintenance. Jan is also the founder of Belgian specialist BI consultancy and systems integrator kJube, where he first introduced Pentaho in 2005.

Before Pentaho, he worked for CapGeminiErnst&Young in Italy and rapidly became one of its top BI project managers. He started his BI career at the Belgian affiliate of IOcore, where he and his colleagues grew the BI service line to become the affiliate’s highest revenue stream through customers like KPN Belgium, Orange (now Base), Mobistar and others.

Degrees / Qualifications / Memberships
• Masters degree in commercial engineering in international business affairs (Handelsingenieur) from the Catholic University of Leuven (Belgium)
• Masters degree in artificial intelligence from the Catholic University of Leuven (Belgium)
