My name is Patrick Deenen and I am born on May 30th 1971 in Ede, The Netherlands. I am currently living in Eindhoven and have the Dutch nationality. My professional career in ICT started in 1991.
From a young age I was fascinated with creating new products from scratch. It started with technical LEGO and accelerated when creating demonstration applications on my Commodore 128. In the meanwhile this passion matured into designing architectures for business critical applications, based on innovative internet technology, and also building these applications.
In the beginning of my career I have built a lot of experience with 4GL development environments, which are characterized by high productivity. Many of the current modern development environments for the development of business critical internet applications are still challenged by the productivity of those 4GL products. For me it is important to improve this productivity in other ways. For example, to define standards, guidelines and a reference architecture. In several projects, for example at NXP and Travelcard, I have done just that, with a result I am very proud off.
It is my ambition to develop my skills with mission critical application architectures based on internet technology and to specialize on JEE. It gives me great satisfaction to do this not only as an architect, but also in the role of software engineer. I am also experienced with the roles of lead developer and consultant. Furthermore I like to work closely in a team, because this leads to better results.
I have, among other things, in depth knowledge and experience with the following:
• Java Frameworks (Spring, RichFaces, GWT, JBoss Seam, Oracle ADF)
• Java Application servers (Oracle, Apache, JBoss)
• Databases (Oracle, SQL Server, MySql)
• Design (UML, Data modeling, architecture)
• Productivity (Software Factories, generators, standards, reusability, agile approach)
• Mobile (Android, iOS, Appcelerator Titanium)
My character is that from a perfectionist, but I learned to balance that with pragmatism.
I outshine in analysis, abstraction, (architecture) design and I can solve (complex) problems fast. Because of these capabilities and my wide technical knowledge I have built a reputation as an architect for mission critical (internet) application architectures.
