Ruud Stroet (44) lives in Amersfoort, The Netherlands. He has been working in retail since 1992. For the first 10 years he held the position of point of sales solutions supplier in Food, Non-food, and Catering. In 2002 he switched to the consumer side as head of IT infrastructure for PLUS Retail. Currently finalizing his masters degree in information science, Ruud has made a career shift towards innovation and development. In his current position as IT architect, Ruud is responsilbe for tactical and strategic decisions and the design of quality management.
PLUS Retail comprises of about 270 supermarket entrepreneurs participating in the PLUS franchise, and is an important party in the Dutch supermarket business. The organisation distiguishes itself from its competitors by its cooperative structure. PLUS Retail is centered around the following core values: Attention, Quality, Locality and Responsibility. The pay-off for PLUS is “PLUS gives you more”. Every PLUS supermarket is lead by an independent entrepreneur, who has full control over his own establishment, and is free to respond to customers’ needs.
